Aloha all!

I'm just making a quick update since my last journal was in October.

I hope everyone had a good winter holiday and new years. Mine was pleasantly calm, and outside there has been about two feet of snow since early December - which has been delightful! I haven't seen this much snow for years.

And who else noticed that there was a Blue Moon in December?? I was so excited by that astronomical phenomenon! I'm not sure I'd ever seen one before.

Last week my mom, sister and brother were in a car accident in our VW Vanagon (which looks like this: [link] ). On a two-lane Highway (four lanes of traffic, two going one way and two going the other) my mom hit a patch of Black Ice and spun out backwards, hit a road sign and rolled into the ditch so the van was on it's side and could potentially flip further still onto the roof. No one was hurt! They were a bit shaken and a little bruised, but there were no open wounds or concusions. The car has some mighty dents in its side and is totaled. My dad and I went and got them once they called us, and apparently there were a lot of people who stopped to make sure everyone was okay, even when the state troopers were there taking care of everything. As far as spinning out and rolling a car, this was as perfect as it got.

So that was my exciting event from the New Year.

Classes at MCAD start next week. I have 5 classes 3 days a week. I'm a little nervous because that's a lot of classes, but I'm still extremely excited for this new experience at a really cool art college. ^_^

I'm thinking about road-tripping out to California in the next few summers. I figure that I need to check out the area if my dream is to work with Pixar eventually, plus I haven't spent much time out of my state, and I've never taken a road trip. But, it's an adventure that would cost money and I've got to save up for a while to pay for it plus my college expenses. But, I'm determined to make it happen someday.

I am admitting right now that I love the band "Lifehouse" and was enthralled to hear that they are coming out with a new album called "Smoke and Mirrors" on February 2nd. I respect their sound and lyrics a lot, and normally the bands I come to like don't make anymore music. So this is quite a treat for me! :D

That is all for now! Wishing you all pleasant days!

Cheers!

Not at the moment, sorry. I have just begun school and am already really jam-packed with things to finish. If you would like, you could ask again in a few months.

Panda, I think it might be a stupid question... But I will ask anyway... Do you draw your awesome art using a tablet or just the mouse? :?

Oh, no worries! There's very few "stupid questions" out there. ^_^

I started with just a mouse, scanning pen lines from paper into my computer and using photoshop, but then I was doing it so much I figured I should buy a tablet so my wrists didn't hurt so much from the mouse (sensitive wrists from drawing all my life). So for the passed year or therabouts I've used the tablet - which is a wonderful tool to be using if you draw on the computer more than 4 times a month!
